My name is Karam Kanwar, and I’m currently in my final year at UBC Sauder School of Business, where I’m pursuing a degree in Finance. I’ve always been curious about how businesses work, what makes certain ideas scale, and how strategy, technology, and people intersect to create lasting impact.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working across a diverse set of industries — from early-stage startups to global consulting firms, from tech companies to mission-driven non-profits. These experiences have given me a strong foundation in problem-solving, adaptability, and cross-functional collaboration.

Most recently, I was working at an early-stage software company, where I helped design and implement scalable internal systems to streamline operations. It was a great opportunity to work with systems design, and understand how small process changes can drive big outcomes over time.

Outside of work, I enjoy picking up new skills, mentoring peers, and staying involved in the UBC community. For example, I co-founded an organization with my peers to strengthen the startup community at UBC. Through this organization, I have organized pitch competitions, built recruitment pipelines for startups, and helped connect students with like-minded entrepreneurial individuals.

This blog is a place for me to share reflections, insights, and lessons learned — across school, work, and life in general. I’ll be writing about topics like:

  • My Experience at UBC, and how one can leverage their University to succeed

  • Career advice and recruiting tips

  • Business cases, and recent developments that I find interesting

If anything I write resonates with you, or if you're just curious about something I’ve done, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to chat, share stories, or learn something new from someone else’s perspective.

Thanks again for visiting!
